The 5th Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (hereinafter referred to as CAST) belongs to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, which is the Fortune world's top 500.Founded in February 20th 1968, and after more than 40 years of development, CAST has become China main space technology and product development base, and it is the main force of China space. Since the establishment of the Academy, people in the CAST of the past dynasties have kept their mission in mind and fought tenaciously, set up a new milestone in the history of China's spaceflight, and realized a new leap forward in space technology. In April 24th 1970, the CAST successfully developed and launched China's first man-made earth satellite, Dongfanghong 1, created a new era for China to explore outer space. In October 2003, the Shenzhou V manned spacecraft manned space flight was successfully completed, making China the third country in the world to carry out manned space activities independently. In  October 2007, the Chang 'e-1 lunar probe entered into orbit around the moon, realizing the Chinese nation's dream of flying in the sky for thousands of years- Chang'e flies to the moon. In September 2008, the Shenzhou VII manned spacecraft successfully realized the first space flight activities of Chinese astronauts. In November 2011, "Tiangong-1" target spacecraft and Shenzhou VIII spacecraft successfully achieved rendezvous and docking, marking the development of China's manned spaceflight achieved a new major breakthrough. To date, more than 100 different types of spacecraft have been developed, launched and operated in orbit. Six series of spacecraft have been formed, such as manned spaceflight, deep space exploration, navigation and positioning, earth observation, communication and broadcasting, space science and technology experiments, etc. The series and platform development of large, medium, small and micro spacecraft have been realized.
